The questions we get. Answered honestly.

Everything you need to know before you apply. From tuition to timelines to whether this program is actually for you. No fluff.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

  • Yes. MedRep Academy is authorized by the State of Georgia's Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission (GNPEC) to operate and award a Certificate of Completion. We are a licensed certificate-granting institution, not an online course, bootcamp, or informal “coaching” program. If you’re a real candidate, this is a real opportunity.

  • No. You'll get a state-authorized Certificate of Completion. We're proud of it, but we'll be honest and tell you that no one cares about the certificate. Hiring managers want to know one thing: can you contribute?

MedRep Academy exists to make sure the answer is yes. You leave with 30+ live surgical cases, real field logistic experience, and the technical language to hold your own in any interview or OR. Certificates get signed. Careers get built on what's behind them.

  • No. This program is deliberately in-person because the skills hiring managers actually pay for,   knowing how to navigate a hospital, handling instrumentation, learning OR etiquette under pressure, building surgeon relationships, can't be taught through a screen. You'll have access to our digital learning platform for supplementary material (recorded lectures, case studies, assessments), but the core curriculum is hands-on and requires you to be on-site.

  • No. MedRep Academy is a full-time, in-person program running Monday through Friday, 6:45 AM to 6:00 PM, at our Atlanta, GA campus. Between classroom instruction, mock OR labs, and live OR case observation, the schedule isn't compatible with full-time work. Most students treat the 12 weeks as a career transition investment. Evenings and weekends are yours if you need part-time income.

GETTING IN

  • Extremely. Medical device sales is one of the most competitive industries in healthcare, and hiring managers almost universally want candidates with OR exposure and clinical fluency, something aspiring reps rarely get access to on their own. That's exactly why MedRep Academy exists. Our graduates leave with 30+ live surgical cases, hands-on device training, and a state-authorized certification that signals to hiring managers you're ready to contribute, not just observe.

  • For now, yes. Most of our hiring manager require a degree. However we evaluate each applicant holistically. We're looking for evidence of work ethic, coachability, professionalism, and the ability to handle pressure, which can come from military service, athletics, previous sales roles, clinical backgrounds, or other high-performance environments.

  • In short, we are looking for the best of the best.

We're looking for people who can handle pressure, learn fast, and represent themselves professionally in high-stakes environments. Specifically:

    • Strong work ethic and coachability

    • Professional presentation and communication

    • Comfort in clinical or high-pressure environments: military, athletics, nursing, EMS, sales, or equivalent

    • A clear, articulated reason for wanting to be in medical device sales

    • Ability to pass OR credentialing requirements (background check, drug screen, immunizations, HIPAA certification)

We don't accept everyone who applies. Classes are intentionally small and that's not a limitation, it's the point. We run the most unique prep program in the world, which means we can only produce the best candidates if we start with the highest-caliber people. That's who we take. In return, every student gets maximum OR time, one-on-one mentorship, and instructor attention you simply can't get in a larger program.

  • No. Our students range widely in age, from recent grads to career changers in their 40s. Hiring managers in medical device sales value work ethic, composure, and clinical fluency over age. Candidates with prior life experience: military service, athletic careers, parenting, previous careers in other fields, often outperform younger candidates in high-pressure OR environments. Age is rarely a disadvantage in this industry. It's usually an asset.

  • There are three steps:

    1. Submit your application online at medrepacademy.com/apply

    2. Interview with one of our Directors (virtual or in-person)

    3. Enroll and onboard — if accepted, you'll complete enrollment paperwork, tuition arrangements, and pre-course credentialing (HIPAA training, background check, immunizations, drug screen)

  • Apply online at medrepacademy.com/apply. The application takes about 5 minutes and asks about your background, why you want to break into medical device sales, and which cohort (Spring, Summer, or Fall) you're targeting. After submission, we'll reach out to schedule your interview.

TUITION AND INVESTMENT

  • Tuition is $25,000 for the 12-week program, including 30+ live surgical cases.

Payment is required upon acceptance. For students who need financing, we can connect you with our student loan partner to spread the cost over time so you don't have to have the full amount on day one, but you do have to be committed on day one.

Think of this as an investment, not a purchase. The people who graduate from MedRep Academy don't treat tuition as an expense, they treat it as the foundation of a long career in medical device sales. First-year earnings in this industry routinely exceed our tuition cost several times over. What you put in at the start pays for itself for decades.

  • We partner with Ascent Funding to offer tuition financing for qualified students. We also accept major credit cards and ACH. GI Bill benefits and employer tuition assistance are evaluated case-by-case. Because MedRep Academy is a certificate program rather than a degree program, traditional federal financial aid (FAFSA) does not apply.
